| Rustic Furniture Importer Expands Reach with Custom Web Application | El Paso Import Company, a prominent rustic furniture company with several locations throughout the United States, needed to tie their physical presence with their online one. With the changing economic climate, they realized that they needed more than just a website to help track and move more inventory. Getting all their locations involved with the web was also part of the challenge. Designers at our Creative Web Ideas (CWI) division redesigned the existing information only site with a new one that highlights the uniqueness of their products and business in a fresh, edgy manner while maintaining a rustic look. Developers in our CWI Applications team developed mini pages for each location, allowing them to work with the main content management system, while still having the flexability of each store manager to edit their own page. These mini pages show the stores contact details, store hours, an embedded Google map, and any special products they currently have in stock. | |
We then built an easy to use shopping cart which allows a tiered client level schema providing different pricing options per client. The checkout process is tied in to multiple shipping API’s to allow for the very unique products to be shipped cost effectively, from international carriers to company delivery for those near a store location. Checkout is completed through integration with a payment gateway for real-time order processing. In addition the shopping cart allows users to create a wish list and later move items from their wish list to their shopping cart.
Complete order and inventory management is made possible through the sites robust backend management suite all custom designed and built to meet the client's usability standards. In addition, the backbend management features a custom/special order management system that ties in each location, allowing remote locations to create special orders which are distributed automatically to the warehouse. A store employee manager allows users to be created that have different permissions to areas of the site as their need warrants – some only being able to view information while others can access all information and make changes. When businesses have very specific needs, and are already used to current processes, they need a solution works with their current infrastructure. CWI Applications identifies inefficiencies and opportunities, and make sure your back office is running effectively. Because we have divisions for design and web server infrastructure, no other Web Application Developer can deliver such a complete and ready to go solution the way CWI Applications can. Within the first 2 days of test deployment, clients were already trying to order from http://www.elpasoimportco.com/. |
